I wanted to hang it up in my home office slash library and use map pins to mark all the neat places I've been. Unfortunately, a bulletin board this size was going to be upwards of $300. It was never going to happen on my salary. BUT - Daddy to the rescue!! He made me a board for Christmas!!!
I still need to look up some of the other places I've been but weren't on the map but I've already put 84 pins in! That's a lot of places to have visited but when you look at the whole map it's pretty concentrated in NY and FL. I still have a lot of the Wild West to cover. My Bucket List includes visiting every state and I better get a move on...
Yes, girl, we need to get you out west!!
ReplyDeleteCool idea. A couple of years ago we did a little touring through Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Vermont. Don't know if we hit any of your "pins", but it was beautiful country to visit in the fall!
As a youth I took a trip to New York with a church group. I stayed with a couple in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. I remember thinking it was so funny to be staying with "Hamburgers".
I've never been to Florida. The extent of my time in the South was a layover in Atlanta.
Yeah, and the deep South, too -- Florida does NOT count. LOL!! Some time in Alabama would be quite nice ... and I can get you relatively quickly into Tennessee and Mississippi while we're at it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift from your Dad. That's a good idea to see how many places you've been ... and how many places are left yet for you to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice dad! Let me know when you decide to visit Iowa!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found this post!! My daughter is 7 and collects post cards and we've been thinking of starting to map out where they are each from - only we are in a rental house and I keep telling her, not until we buy a home b/c I don't want to damage the rental home's wall with all the push pin marks ----never thought to put on a cork board until I read your post! BRILLIANT! :)
ReplyDeletealso where did you find your small push pins?? online or local store?
Thanks again for sharing and I hope you get to visit all 50 states!
Love from Indiana! ~bonnie
