And that also meant I had to immediately go home and start making some samples...starting with the paddle.
As usual there are multiple layouts and they can be modified even more by playing with fabric placement. I even came up with another new layout altho I am sure there are still more to discover. My favorite is in the middle.
You are probably thinking that these colors are pretty wild but they are based on this FQ that my dear friend Denise gifted me some time back.
After finding this layout while perusing a magazine last night I've decided to make a 18" block with the hexie flower in the middle. Won't this make a great catmat/dollquilt/table topper?!
PS - since yesterday was National Quilting Day it was also my two year hexi-versary ;^)
PPS - Mickey released another Pieced Hexie Star yesterday - be sure to check it out!

Wonderful layouts on your hexies!
ReplyDeleteHappy hexi-versary!
ReplyDeleteHi, yesterday was my 2 yr blogiversary too!
ReplyDeleteI have got to work on my hexi quilt! I got frustrated and put it aside, I need to pull it back out!
ReplyDeleteI love that cat fabric -- and it's so you!!! The eye play of these pieced hexies is completely fascinating! I could sit here and stare at them for HOURS!! Okay ... so will the cat fabric play into all this? Like Missy, I need to get out my hexies again! I saw a darling pattern for an updated GG -- in a hexie basket! Fun stuff! And Happy Anniversary! :)
ReplyDeleteNo hexies here - but getting a great fix by visiting here on the 17th of the month. Happy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteWonderful hexies. I wish I had some to add, but I'm stalled.
ReplyDeleteI had to sign up too..but I am new to this whole pieced hexie thing...ordered the book and can't wait to get on the bandwagon!
ReplyDeleteI love all your possibilities. It would be so hard to pick just one! I think the way you laid it out would make a great table topper, though you'd have to make one really big hexie!
ReplyDeleteYou piece the fabrics for your hexies? !!!!!! That certainly certifies you as a Hexiholic. Your hexes make mine run and hide ... just saying ... sorry I was late to the party here ... ;) Pat
