Hopefully I remembered to unplug my sewing machine as I had planned to do last night...

The plant in the tiny greenhouse is a String of Turtles. It's a succulent where, when properly hydrated, each petal is puffed up to resemble a turtle shell. The "flowers" are really white/green spikes at the end of each string and mine appears to be in full "bloom". It's meant to be a hanging plant but it always seemed to dry out too quickly (I nearly killed it last year) so it now sits in the greenhouse on a tray of water/rocks and it's happy as can be.
Beautiful African Violets!! I lost all mine a couple years ago and find that they have become very "pricey" here...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful African Violets caught my eye. Mine need repotting so badly I would be embarrassed to show them. :)
ReplyDeleteI've had String of Pearls plants, but hadn't heard of the Turtle variety of strings. Looks intriguing. And I like the way you slipped the weather blocks in there.
Looks like the roller coaster temperature ride through Spring continues. We had a little bit of rain yesterday afternoon, but no thunder until 2 rumbles about 9:30 PM. Raining now.

Your African violets look gorgeous, happy and healthy. Mine don't have any flowers at the moment - I mustn't have been looking after them as well as I should.
ReplyDeleteThe string of turtles plant is new to me. Good job finding the spot it likes.
Amazing temperature range in this week.
Temps have been fickled indeed. We had a horrid lightening storm last night - and huge rain fall!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute tiny green house! I wonder if the greenhouse effect makes hexies sitting in there 'warmer' in colour? ;)
