Design Wall Monday - 7/2/12

I finally had to give in and do some yardwork yesterday, which is not to say that I didn't spend every minute Saturday working on hexies! The weather was perfect to sit by the open front windows surrounded by kitty cats enjoying the sun and breezes.

This is what Bonnie calls the "Mothership" (it's all one piece now):

Yup - my QCO was giving it her cheek rub of approval
You can see in the upper part of this next shot where I have both borders on some chunks and those will be attached to the mothership Wednesday morning since I have the day off for the Fourth of July.

And here you can see the entire quilt on the design wall

Only 87 more black hexies to go!!! Just one week ago I had 180 more to do.
It was a productve week...lets hope this week is too.

It's looking great! I have about 120 hexies to cut out, mark and then sew on for my top to be finished.

Are you just over the moon to be so close? I think I can feel the excitement from here!
How wide is this quilt across from point to point?

Wow! Those little hexies add up to one lovely quilt!

Very effective use of color placement, especially the center grouping with the row of white. This is terrific.

Love your hexie layout! I think you will be so very pleased when it is finished, not far to go.

That is fabulous looking. What an accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself. I would be shouting from the roof tops that it was almost finished. I guess that means that you are going to hand quilt it next? I hope you enter it in a major show. It is most worthy.
