Wednesday Weather Report #37 - 1/31/18

So.. Raise your left hand if you got to watch today's Blue Blood Super Wolf Moon Eclipse LIVE and in person...

Now...Raise your right hand if you also got to watch the Total Solar Eclipse LIVE and in person last summer...

Great! Now I know who not to talk to anymore out of sheer jealousy! Just Kidding!

On the other hand, the next total solar eclipse will be passing over my house on Monday, 4/8/2024 at 3:20pm and I'm planning a party. Anyone want to come visit?

Back to the present...

We had more wacky weather this week and I bet the next week will be more of the same. I remember as a kid that there was one thaw in January and otherwise it was solid snow for 5 or 6 months. No longer...

19 - 22 - 39 - 50 - 43 - 32 - 16F

"Button" in the middle is my rare earth magnetic needle holder that says

Our Monday sewing group was here and set up different devices for veiwing the solar eclipse, but we were too cloudy to see the lunar - and I did get up to see it. Of course, things cleared up after the fact - geesh! I have to find something special to mark this event like I did with the other in the temp quilt.

We did not have totality here in SE CT--and i didn't make it out of bed--but i did do a journal art page on it...that was such fun...tomorrow hubster goes in for surgery so although I am normally "moon-mad" and always writing about the phases every day in my journal..this medical issue has taken over ...hugs, Julierose

The lunar eclipse last night started here at about 11pm. I sew it occasionally between the clouds. I fell asleep before the moon was totally in shadow - just a little sliver of light was left the last time I saw it. The rest of the moon had a slight tinge of reddishness about it, but the best was going to be from midnight to 2am. Too late for me!

Of course I missed the total solar eclipse, being on the wrong side of the world, but I have lived through one of those here before.

I got up just after 5 a.m. to see the lunar event--you bet I did!! And it was TOTAL cloud cover. I checked every 30 to 40 minutes until the time was up, but it never cleared at all! Bummer!!
But my right hand is up. :)
I SO want to come to your party. Hubby thinks we are going to Arkansas.
January is over, and we still haven't had our January weather. Our current low temps are what our highs usually are. Go figure.

I don't know why I haven't come across your blog before I found when I was looking around at other peoples links and saw you had a hexie link up - I've kind of gotten addicted in recent years :) I have you on my feedly reader now so I can keep up with you.
