Design Wall Monday - 1/16/17

I spent Friday evening making the last 2 blocks as well as 4 more purple 4patches so that I could finish making the sashing for this year's mystery quilt.

Saturday morning I laid out the blocks and started adding sashing. Can you see my QCO?

Maybe this helps?

Bleu has started hiding out at the top of the cat tower. This was ZET (Zorro Exclusive Territory) until last week but more and more Bleu copies anything and everything that Z does. I keep telling Z it's a form of flattery...I'm not sure that Z believes me.

It appeared that Bleu was plotting to attack my quilt when I left it out on the floor to run a few errands. I was impressed that it was all still in position when I returned an hour later.

Bleu was a very good boy and walked around the quilt instead of over it the entire weekend.

I spent the rest of the Saturday adding sashing and the first border until it was in 9 large pieces. Woo Hoo!!

I won't tell you that I had to make 2 more pink and 3 more purple tri-recs to get this far. Apparently I can't count very well.

I've started making the neutral 4patches for the outer border but I probably won't get much done before next weekend, too many meetings this week.

The quilt looked the same overnight and for most of Sunday.

Eventually it just became too much for him to walk around so he created some space in the middle. He still never steps on the quilt blocks, just over the corners. Such a well trained little Momma's boy.

Love your colors! My QC inspector ALWAYS positions herself in the very center of the blocks, but she never rearranges them, that was the bad dog's milieu (he was really a good dog, but not being a dog lover...)

That photo of Bleu looking down his nose is pretty funny. And where is Zorro in all of this? Off nursing hurt feelings? Does he feel like Bleu is trying to crowd him out, or does he care?

Oh, that is pretty all laid out on the floor. Love that peeping over the edge photo!

I've never had a quilt last that long without one of my helpers rearranging it! The kittens copy everything Pippi does, it makes her so mad. Of course, the kittens are now four years old.

I don't think blocks on the floor would last more than a couple of minutes with Tugger, the one cat destructo team. Beautiful job. I have been thinking of making that quilt. I use my design wall, and still Tugger will get behind the lower blocks and pry them off the wall.

Beautiful quilt! I guess the temptation just got too much for Bleu.

It's so gorgeous - and Blue is beyond gorgeous!!! I'm doing 9 blocks also, but only 6 are assembled so far. I can't wait to get it together :*)

quilt looks amazing, poor Zorro he seems to be having his nose put out of joint by Bleu

Your quilt looks lovely laying so nicely on the floor. I was amused at the picture of the nose over the edge sneaking a peek. I cannot imagine any kitties ever leaving something that long on the floor without walking on it or messing up the blocks. Bleu is such a beautiful cat.

Good progress! You should have had yesterday to work on it. :( Bleu is such a character! I love how carefully he moves pieces around so that he can sit on a spot in the middle. He's such a hoot!! Z's absence is noted. :)

I had the same trouble with counting - so tiresome! Your quilt is looking great.

En Provence looks stunning! Poor Bleu! such temptation for a little kitty. I love the face peeking out from the top of his cat tree.
I am constructing my En Provence blocks at the moment. Along with the sashing pieces and the outer border pieces. I still have a ways to go but am looking forward to putting it all together.

You've made more progress than I. I have six of my nine blocks sewn, some are sashed. I had started by making half the blocks, so I had to make more units, too. I did the extra tri-recs as leaders and enders while sewing blocks together, so there are only two more to be done. I think I have enough neutral four patches for the borders. We shall see. Anyway, yours looks wonderful and the cat adds charm.
