Oh, my gosh, that is the epitome of "wait on me hand and foot, please", which I believe Z has mastered. Are you sure he isn't just changing the channel? :)
Yeah, he has controll of the remote - just a distraction from the true purpose of that paw.
I'm sure he would get it if you let him
