The Bibliophile Files - 4/2/19

Welcome to my monthly listing of the books I've read!

FINISHED
Big Stone Gap - an excellent story about living and working in the Appalachian Mountains and just how good our friends can be. It's read by the author and I'm thrilled to find out there are 3 more books in the series. I can only hope she reads the other books as well.
Legal Tender - I've been reading this series for a while - minus the first 5 or 6 books that weren't available on CD until I randomly came across this (#2) book now on CD. woohoo! It's nice to have more of the backstory to the series.
     Hardcore Twenty Four
Red Alert - I almost missed finding this book as the nomenclature for the series changed drastically. They used to be NYPD Red #1, NYPD Red #2, etc until #5 came along and they gave it a name instead of a number. I will admit there were times when I kinda confused the characters with an FBI series I follow. It was annoying but totally my fault.
     Pekoe Most Poison

IN PROGRESS
on my iPhone - Where the Crawdads Sing
on my stereo - The Girls in the Garden

That's all I've got for this month. I started myself on a reading challenge so I'm hoping that I'll be more inspired to listen to books instead of just watching DVDs while I work on Mr Serious or work on my spring cleaning.

What have you read recently? Novels, magazines, quilt patterns and cereal boxes all count!!!

I like the Big Stone Gap series, too, and I've listened to the first three - all read by the author! I have the fourth, Home to Big Stone Gap, (read by the author) on my tablet right now, waiting for me to get to it.

No books I heard of these month, but it sounds like you have a thing for crime novels lately! I'm giving 'His Dark Materials' another go, I read the first one many many years ago, but never more - now I re-read that, and read the second, and really enjoy it.
