Oh and BTW - Happy Birthday to me! LOL! That's why there are gifts for you!
I had hoped to have a much better progression report on my pieced hexies but life just got in the way so I'll show you where I'm at. It's looking like this will be a table runner and I just need to add 6 more hexies to each end and then fill in the sides to straighten them out.
I did however, buy myself a little gift with the help of the notosLQS's frequent shopper card and these acrylic templates make it easier to mark the papers and I can lay them out to see how the shapes play next to each other.
And now, what you've all been waiting for...giveaways!!!!
I contacted Mickey Depre who graciously donated a copy of her book Pieced Hexies. She will be mailing the winner an autographed copy!!!!! Isn't that fabulous?! And don't forget my tip to spiral bind the book - it's much easier when drooling over all the fab design ideas.
I'll be sending a pack of 1.5" papers, some tiny binder clips (which I find better than sliced bread!) and a FQ of your favorite color. But wait, there's more...there will also be chocolate!! And maybe a surprise!
I would really like the book to go to a hexie-aholic so today's prizes are only available for people who link their blog or photo to HeLP - any project, new or old, finished or even just a dream, is eligible. We don't judge your technique so show us your style! You have until next Thursday to enter the giveaway. Good Luck!!
And just so you non-hexie peeps aren't left out - check back on Feline Friday for another giveaway!! The birthday continues...
Your New hexagonproject Looks fantastic. I Love hexagonprojects.
Liebe Grüße Grit from germany
Feliz Aniversário!!!!!Deus te abençoe.
Happy Happy Birthday!!! I just bought this book yesterday in Lincoln Nebraska after stopping at the IQSC. They had a hexie quilt on display in the "Colonial Revival" area. It was a Martha Washington flower garden quilt done with larger hexies and bright pink background. I live about 45 miles from the study center, but never seem to get down there!! I went to school there--so the textile dept was one of my many stops during school and is always fun to go back to. They had a display of toy and miniature machines also!! I even was able to purchase some fantastic fabric there. Then I found the hexie book in a quilt store--but they did not have the templates. Will have to look for those. I hope you have a great birthday!!!!

I had to post it here, too!! Love your hexie project -- the dark, dark purple batik is scrumptious! Those acrylic templates look like fun, too! What a coup on the giveaway! I love using the little binder clips (thank you so much) for my little pieces! That was such an awesome tip! YAY for birthdays and hexies!!!!!! :)
I think I need more storage for my hexie papers also. I love your pieced hexies. I hope to make some after my current project.
Happy Birthday to you!
I own that book but haven't yet done anything with it. Sigh. You are tempting me yet again.
Happy birthday to you! I love hexagons. And I linked my post from Hexagon Alley, and hope that's ok.
Well, happy birthday! I hadn't thought about storage for my different sized hexagon papers, but that's a very good idea. I think maybe one of those small stackables will do it for now - until I get more!
Happy Birthday Sarah!
I discovered your blog through the Scquilters. I'd love to enter but alas I don't blog, I do Flickr, Instagram, time permits this is all I do.
But to tempt you have given you the link to my most recent Hexie Finish. Hope you like it!
I love the batiks in your hexi - it really adds a modern twist. Joinng the HeLP today, for some inspiration for my new, undecided hand piecing project.
Birthday Wishes to you.
Happy Birthday!!! Hope you had a great day! Your hexie project is really awesome! I wish I had some to show, but I have put together ONE flower, and I have made a small amount of teeny, tiny hexies that will probably never grow up to be anything :(
I love making hexies. Right now I'm sewing up a gazillion 1/2 inch hexies to make a Grandmother's Flower Garden some day. I'm also making a wall hanging which I will be posting soon. This last one has much more of a possibility of being finished since I've made almost all the hexies for it. Have a Happy Birthday and thanks for the opportunity to win your generous giveaway.
I love your project you are working on!! It's beautiful! I need to try the pieced hexies after I finish my first attempt at hexies in general.
Very generous of you and your birthday. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Thanks for the chance to win such a fantastic give-away.
Happy birthday to you :-)
I was planning to link my blog yesterday, but forgot all about the blogging until after bedtime. Next time :-)
I think I can say that it is yesterday somewhere in the world, and linked anyway ;-)
This look like a great book and would love to win it. Think I will have to start working on my This goes with that hexagons again now.
Love your table topper. The idea for hexie storage..awesome!
I may need to join a support group for hexies.
Luckily I had written my post before I went out of town. My hexie project is definitely old since it is my grandmother's quilt!
Happy Birthday to You.
Love your new hexie project, great shapes and colours. Will need to look for that book, and the templates. I haven't seen the templates before.
